SnipLab ("we", "our", "us") operates sniplab.io. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — name and email address provided when you sign up via Clerk (our authentication provider).
- Content you create — code snippets, file titles, folder names, and version history you save in SnipLab.
- Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) retained for up to 30 days for debugging and security purposes.
2. How we use your information
- To operate and provide the SnipLab service.
- To authenticate you and enforce your access permissions.
- To broadcast real-time edits to collaborators you have explicitly shared with.
- To send transactional emails (password reset, etc.) via Clerk.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your content to train machine learning models.
3. Third-party services
SnipLab uses the following sub-processors to deliver the service:
- Clerk — authentication and user management. Privacy policy.
- Neon — serverless Postgres database where your snippets and account data are stored. Privacy policy.
- Pusher Channels — WebSocket relay for real-time collaboration. Content is transmitted in transit only; Pusher does not persist your code. Privacy policy.
- Vercel — hosting and edge network. Privacy policy.
4. Data retention and deletion
Your account data and snippets are retained for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below and we will process your request within 30 days.
5. Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and a theme key in localStorage to remember your dark/light mode preference. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Children
SnipLab is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use of SnipLab after changes constitutes acceptance.
